For decades, we have been told that toxic chemicals are necessary to protect our crops, control nature, and defend not only our industries but our very own life. But behind this narrative lies a sinister motivation.
About 20 years ago I joined the ranks of activists raising awareness about the adverse effects of toxic pesticides on all life forms and Earth herself. Synthetically created pesticides have infiltrated every ecosystem, entered waterways and oceans, accumulated in soils, plants and animals – including humans; inflicting ill-health and death to everything they come in contact with.
New Zealand has some of the highest cancer rates in the world. Given our excessive and often unlawful use of toxic agrichemicals, this comes as no surprise.
Our government is breaching one of our most basic human rights – the Right to Health.
This includes the right to safe drinking water, safe food and safe working and environmental conditions.
Over the years, countless New Zealanders have objected to being systematically poisoned. Thousands of letters, submissions and petitions were written and many courageous books and documentaries produced. Collaborating and liaising with scientists and veteran activists in this field, we continue to lobby our government agencies to minimise the use of all Highly Hazardous Pesticides, but most urgently, to immediately ban the deadly compound 1080.
Toxic substances do not simply disappear. They metabolise and very little science focuses on investigating the synergistic effects they can create, when connecting with other chemicals. Synergistic toxicity can be more harmful than a chemical on its own.
Yet, our government is ignoring our protests against their unlawful practices and the resulting grand scale ecocide and genocide. Our politicians keep lying to the New Zealand public and the whole world. Behind the smoke screen of a deceptive marketing campaign, ‘CLEAN – GREEN – 100% PURE NEW ZEALAND’, they are selling out and are destroying our natural world, unscrupulously and recklessly endanger people’s lives… for nothing but greed.
The film ‘Toxic Lies’ and this website were created to expose, inform, investigate, and challenge the systems that normalize and perpetuate chemical dependency, while hiding its long-term effects. You will find research, stories, evidence, and discussions about the real impact of toxic pesticides — and the safer, sustainable alternatives that already exist.
‘TOXIC LIES’ is a desperate and urgent plea for the help of the global community, to end this vicious toxic paradigm.
